What’s new in Radrunde

  1. Version 2.5 · Android — Loops as a GPX file

    • Every loop as a GPX file, free of charge: tap the share icon, choose “GPX File” and send the loop to Garmin, Wahoo or Komoot. This works for one-way routes and themed routes too.
    • One share icon for everything: on the result card, on the themed route and in the Node list — behind it GPX file, Node list or link. In “My Loops”, GPX file and Node list sit right in the menu.
    • The file names the source and licence of the map data.
  2. Version 2.4 · Android — Weather for your loop

    • The weather for your loop: one sentence in the result tells you what affects the ride — “Lovely cycling weather.”, rain from 4 pm, gusts on open stretches or a return after sunset. For one-way routes too.
    • Wind per variant: “Tailwind on the way back” or “Headwind on the way out” — so you can take the loop that suits the wind.
    • Weather view: the next 48 hours with your riding window — tap an hour and choose your departure.
    • More compact result, the map stays large.
  3. Version 3.6.2 · iOS — Fine-tuning the weather

    • The weather sentence in the result now shows in full on every iPhone — even when swiping through loops. If space gets tight, Radrunde drops a detail rather than cutting the sentence off; the verdict always stays readable.
    • Returning after sunset is now counted in hours rather than large numbers of minutes: “3 h after sunset”. Departure time and Apple Weather sit on their own line below the sentence.
    • A calmer header in the result: the line “Swipe to compare” is gone — the next loop peeks into view anyway.
  4. Version 2.3 · Android — The Netherlands on Android

    • The Netherlands is here: add the Dutch node network and plan loops across the border — from NRW into the Netherlands and back, in one go. You add networks in Settings and remove them there too.
    • Radrunde speaks Dutch: the whole interface — and the themed routes in your language.
    • Node panel in navigation: number, direction and what comes next.
    • Without internet, the app starts with the network you loaded last.
  5. Version 3.6 · iOS — Weather and wind for every loop

    • Weather for your loop: one sentence in the result tells you what affects the ride — “Lovely cycling weather”, rain from 4 pm, gusts on open stretches or a return after sunset. Always there, no tapping.
    • Wind per loop: each variant shows where the wind is — “Tailwind on the way back” or “Headwind on the way out”. So you take the loop that suits the wind.
    • Weather view: tap the sentence to see the hours with your riding window, choose your departure up to two days ahead, and compare the wind of all loops side by side. Data from Apple Weather.
    • More map in the result: the result is more compact, the map stays large — even for one-way routes with an approach.
  6. Version 3.5 · iOS — Apple Watch and node panel

    • Apple Watch: the watch shows the next node, the distance and the turn hint — with a noticeable vibration before the sign and at the node. Your iPhone stays in your pocket.
    • Ride as a workout, controlled from the watch: the Watch records the ride as a cycling workout, heart rate and kilometres land in Health. Skip nodes, pause, end the ride — and the Node list is now on your wrist too.
    • Node panel: the next sign appears large in navigation, as at the roadside. At the node it says “Follow sign 27” instead of a number, and the chain shows which node is behind you and which comes next.
    • Dutch signs in their colours: white-and-green nodes from the NL network look on the map, panel and Watch just as they do outside.
  7. Version 2.2 · Android — One-way routes from A to B on Android

    • One-way routes: choose a destination — place, address or node — and Radrunde finds several ways across the node network. Navigation takes you all the way to the destination; you can save routes and open them again later.
    • Reverse a loop: one tap, same way, other direction.
    • A calmer map on which the network stands out — in navigation it glides along smoothly and looks ahead.
    • Recent: your last destinations with length and date.
  8. Version 3.4 · iOS — Two networks, one loop

    • The Netherlands is here: Radrunde now also plans on the nationwide Dutch node network — all provinces, over 10,000 nodes. Switch it on in Settings under “Node Networks”, and it sits on your iPhone just like the NRW network.
    • Loops and one-way routes across the border: at the border crossings both networks are connected, and Radrunde treats them as one. From Kleve to Nijmegen, from Bocholt into the Achterhoek — the loop simply crosses over and still ends up back at the start point.
    • Radrunde speaks Dutch: the whole app, the Node list, the widgets — and the themed routes with title and portrait in your language.
    • If the network for your start is missing, the map tells you instead of an error message — one tap downloads it.
  9. Version 3.3 · iOS — One-way routes to your destination

    • One-way routes end at the destination, not at the last node: Radrunde takes you from the start onto the node network and, at the end, back off it to the address — approach and departure show as a dotted line on the map, navigation counts down the last mile and sets the destination flag.
    • Save and rename one-way routes: calculated routes live under “My Loops”, can be renamed and started again later.
    • Recent: your latest requests appear with length and date on the home screen; a tap brings them back, swiping deletes them.
    • Calmer navigation: the map glides after the ride instead of jumping, with its own position dot and a soft look ahead.
  10. Version 2.1 · Android — Themed routes on Android

    • Themed routes: in the “Discover” tab you find hand-picked loops with photos, map and Route view — view, save, set off straight away. Themed route links from radrunde.app now open directly in the app.
    • Direction arrows on the route show where to go — and the suggestions are easier to tell apart by colour.
    • The “Off route” notice disappears again as soon as you are back on the route.
    • Fresh home screen.
  11. Version 3.2 · iOS — One-way routes from A to B

    • One-way routes: alongside the loop there is now the one-way route — enter a destination (place, address or node number), and Radrunde guides you from the start there across the node network, with node sequence and navigation as usual. Free for everyone.
    • Navigation finds its way back: if you leave the route and meet it again later, navigation picks you up there again — even further along the route.
    • Sharper route line in navigation.
  12. Version 2.0.1 · Android — Radrunde for Android is here

    • Radrunde is now available for Android too — free on Google Play, no account, no ads.
    • Choose a start point and the distance you want, get up to three loops, navigate node by node.
  13. Version 3.1 — Tidier planning, direction of travel, Siri

    • Tidier planning: the distance you want takes centre stage, with the estimated riding time beside it — start and destination sit below as a calm group of rows.
    • Direction of travel on the map: small arrows on the route line show which way the loop runs — and a tap reverses it. The same route ridden the other way round, with the node sequence mirrored; saved loops stay saved.
    • Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight: “Plan a loop with Radrunde” or “Start navigation with Radrunde” — saved loops and themed routes are found directly via Spotlight search. Themed route links from radrunde.app now open in the app instead of the browser.
    • Clearer map: several suggestions can be told apart by colour, the node numbers always sit above the route line, and switching between suggestions fades softly. The route drawn matches the calculated loop exactly — course and kilometre figure agree.
  14. Version 3.0 — Themed routes to discover

    • Discover: hand-picked themed routes — loops along lakes, palaces and industrial heritage in NRW, with photos from the route and things worth knowing along the way.
    • Route view: photo strip and map run in sync — you see in advance where you are going and what awaits you.
    • Save and offline: saved themed routes sit under “My Loops” and start even without a network.
    • Filter by length and terrain, sorted by proximity — if you like, with a reference location of your choice.
  15. Version 2.0.1 — Large text everywhere

    • All screens support the largest iOS text sizes — text is no longer cut off.
    • Stronger contrast on the Node list; in landscape the map keeps enough room.
  16. Version 2.0 — Navigation, landscape, slimmer app

    • Better navigation: the map looks ahead in the direction of travel and turns with you — the next node stays in view. A badge shows follow and location status.
    • Fresh map look: calmer base map, more clearly highlighted cycle network, routes with a distinct outline.
    • Landscape: turn the iPhone sideways — the route result sits as a side panel beside the map, ideal on the handlebars.
    • Slimmer app: the NRW network data arrives on the device on first launch instead of in the download — after that fully offline as usual.
  17. Version 1.2 — Save and share loops

    • Save calculated loops with one tap and reopen them any time under “My Loops”.
    • Share loops as a link — with Radrunde the complete node sequence opens directly in the app; without the app, radrunde.app shows the Node list in the browser.
  18. Version 1.1 — Node list

    • The Node list shows the number sequence of your loop large and legible — like the paper slip on the handlebars. The display stays on, and the Node list can be shared as an image.
    • “Plan Route” now sits as a labelled capsule on the map and opens automatically on first launch.
    • When you swipe between route variants, the map moves with you.
  19. Version 1.0 — The first version

    • Choose a start point and the distance you want — Radrunde calculates up to three different loops on the NRW node network, right on the iPhone.
    • Node navigation with Live Activity and Dynamic Island; the Apple Watch follows the node sequence live.
    • Route comparison on the map via the map carousel.
